CHH...get ready to take a look in the mirror

Meta, adjective, (of a creative work) referring to itself or to the conventions of its genre; self-referential. "the enterprise is inherently "meta," since it doesn't review music, for example, it reviews the reviewers who review music"

As a culture we all fall under this category, FiveTwenty included. New music drops at a break-neck pace and we cast our judgment often after one initial listen. As Kay Sade prepares to release her first solo project this Friday, we are all going to be challenged to truly listen to her creation. We can tell you, our early listen to the project simply demands it.

Sade has hinted at a solo project for some time and now, one year following the disbandment of Rapzilla Freshman duo TheKnuBlack, comes the 10-track 'Meta'.

'Meta' is self-produced and includes no features. This is intentional. It is a showcase of the discovery of her sound. It is a continuation of Sade's contribution to the genre.

Born in Norfolk, Virginia and raised in central New Jersey, Sade graduated from Belmont University in Nashville where she studied audio engineering technology and music business. That education has been on display over the last year as she has collaborated with artists such as Culture Villain CZAR Josh and Dru Bex. 'Meta' is set to share a new side of the artist with listeners.

From confident tracks such as the project opener "Jewel" to bold and spirited tracks like "Entendre" and title track "Meta", the album is packed with a wide range of sounds. The thing to keep in mind while listening is that 'Meta' is about Sade discovering her sound, that alone holds bright promise for the future.

In the present, there are more than enough reasons for excitement as 'Meta' is easily in position to be one of indie CHH's top projects of 2019.
